LEARNING POD PROGRAM

Are you concerned about how you, as a parent, are going to manage virtual learning for your child when the school year begins in September? Let us help you with your student's transition to virtual learning. We understand the demands of working from home, while adjusting to a new normal, and attempting to keep up with the demands of playing a larger role in educating your child. This undertaking can be difficult. Join our Learning Pod Program and let us assist your family.

We offer the following for remote learning students enrolled in Kindergarten through 1st Grade:

  • The Learning Pod Instructor (LPI) is responsible for a small group of students and will ensure that they are successful in navigating through the district's remote learning program.

  • Ensure your child is following published schedules and completing the assignments provided by the district's teacher, as well as ensure they are attending the small and whole group virtual instructional opportunities provided by the teacher.

  • Provide any additional instructional support in completing assignments and projects.

  • Students will continue to engage in peer interaction in a safe environment. All daily screening and cleaning protocols will remain in place, along with exclusion criteria in effect when the situation calls for it.

  • Essentially, the LPI would be your child's advocate so that you can focus on providing for your family. We all know, from the remote learning experience this past spring, that working from home and educating your child is not an easy task. Let us help you with this.

Before/after school care (before care: 7:00am-7:45am; after care: 2:00pm-5:30pm) offered for an additional fee. Breakfast/lunch will be provided. Snacks are provided for after care students only. This program is primarily offered to DeSoto ISD/Uplift School students, but we are open to other schools as well.

This program will be offered to a small number of students. Please call 972-360-8258 to get more information.
